Baker’s Acres is a metaphor. It is an archive for some of my creative pursuits and it is an imaginary space that I envision as I explore our National Parks. Most importantly, it is an homage to my father, Joe Baker, who passed away in 1996.
From the time I was about 20 and up to his final days, he talked about an idea to buy a small acreage and call it Baker’s Acres. He talked about his vision of a simple shack, an old barn, a fire pit, a water feature, and maybe a neighbor who had livestock. A wonderful vision that never came to fruition.
This site is a symbolic step in making Joe’s vision a reality. It serves me well as a reminder that there is a lot to explore out there and it gives me a vehicle where I can share my photos of the places I love so much. I hope you enjoy.
